A Quartz Crystal Chard is a chunk of crystal that has been sheared off the point of a larger crystal.  Over many centuries, new growth is generally found in the areas where it was sheared off, culminating in unique crystal growth.  They are exceptionally beautiful when it's a water-clear crystal, such as this one, from Jessieville, Arkansas.  Museum grade for the discriminating collector!
